GatorBears is a social group for masculine, hairy men (a.k.a. BEARS) and their admirers. There are many definitions of what a bear should look like, but as far as this group is concerned, there are no physical in's or out's. All are welcome who are interested in bears. We just want to have a good time!

GatorBears is strictly a social group of men who get together to have fun and enjoy the company of other gay men who share their interests. We meet several times a month for movies, dinners, and other social gatherings. Our most popular event is Bears on the River! At this event, bears from all over north central Florida come together to take a trip down the Ichetucknee River. We all rent tubes, and float down the COLD river in a big furry pile, and afterwards we do what bears do best... we eat!! The tubing is always followed by a cookout and more social time! Pictures from many of our events can help you to see what our group is all about.

GatorBears is a very laid-back group. We have no "membership" requirements, no dues, and only a generalized "steering committee". Our events are always posted on the website. The only thing we do ask of our "members" is that everyone who is interested in the group should join our Google Group. The group is how we disseminate information to our members. Our events are always posted on the website, but more detailed information such as directions, or lists of what we need people to bring to events, are sent out to this group. So it really is helpful for members to join the list. Plus, it gives us an idea of the number of people interested in this group, so we do appreciate you guys joining.
